With Visceral's move from the confines of the Ishimura and the Sprawl to the vast, icy planet of Tau Volantis, they have moved more firmly into action territory both in gameplay and story. While not quite survival horror, the series excels at atmosphere and while the plot hasn't always been Shakespearean in magnitude, it has always been tight and straight-forward. The "Dead Space" franchise has always been a shining beacon of the action horror genre.
